Most often people think of transferable skills as something that is needed only when you are considering a career change. I am of the opinion that is not necessarily the case.
If you want a promotion or choose a career move that is within a particular niche then these transferable skills will come in handy. What are transferable skills? more

It has been brought to my attention that many of you have or had subscribed to my blog via Kindle. I want to thank you for your support.
In addition I want to offer my sincerest apologies for not continuing to update and for making any of you feel it was/is a waste of time to read my work. more Everyone was typing furiously. Everyone was blaming each other for this pest nicknamed IT. If Bobble Head would just keep her mouth shut, then we would not have this problem. Why weren't the psychics doing their job. They were supposed to make sure everyone was oblivious and everyone not understand what was happening around them.
“I HATE her” “I am doing this for my cousin” “I am doing this because she always thought she was better than everyone else. She NEEDS to be put in her place.” “I am doing it for the fun” more This is the updated version of my blurb for my new book Story:
The economy has tanked, and massive amounts of thefts have been exposed. These thefts are not ordinary by any means, rather the culprits are big corporations. People have lost jobs and are spending their free time doing any variety of things. A small gang of people meet up daily online to play together. Their meeting place is no ordinary meeting place especially for the person who stumbles upon their hideout. They are meeting in multi-player games; there are groups of people, gamers and yet a small group have a big secret. In real life they don't necessarily know each other, but they know how to find you. They threaten you, and events occur in your life that seem to be so bizarre that you question your own sanity. In game, players complain of account thefts, others playing on their accounts when they are not online, missing money and items and yet everyone seems oblivious. Authorities know that gangs play in these games, and yet no one can be identified. more Story Happy New Year - 2013!
To kick off the new year, I have decided to re-launch my ebook. This ebook was originally on sale when I published the paperback. The files have been recovered! Look out for it this month. The other thing is I have written a new book. I plan to pre-release a chapter or two before the launch date. This is a totally different genre here's an excerpt: Prologue The economy has tanked, and massive amounts of thefts have been exposed. These thefts are not ordinary by any means, rather the culprits are big corporations. People have lost jobs and are spending their free time doing any variety of things. A small gang of people meet up daily online to play together. Their meeting place is no ordinary meeting place. They are meeting in multi-player games there are groups of people, gamers and yet a small group have a big secret. In real life they don't necessarily know each other, but they know how to find you. They threaten you, and events occur in your life that seem to be so bizarre that you question your own sanity. In game, players complain of account thefts, others playing on their accounts when they are not online, missing money and items and yet everyone seems oblivious.Authorities know that gangs play in these games, and yet no one can be identified. Does the internet provide shelter for the criminal elements because of a perceived anonymity? Or are these criminals being protected by their fellow gamers who in real life hold positions of authority such as teachers, students, other professionals and psychics as well as people who have served time. Psychics have been used by presidents and corporations to provide guidance for potential pitfalls in an otherwise successful venture.Furthermore, most psychics are ethical in their distribution of information.Stories are told of psychics charging above the industry norm for their guidance. Most people see psychics as people that do no the truth, and are just conning others.Others perceive Psychics as people who can offer true guidance or at least an insight into things happening around them. So do they truly exist? According to information that has been available from during the Cold War, Russia and the United States have been employing psychics for a variety of projects. These game players if exposed would have careers ruined when others identify the foul mouthed player, or the perverted player or the player that utters threats at others. How far would these people go to protect their online activities, so that they can continue to live double lives. With all of the complaints some how these individuals elude the authorities. When investigations are launched, evidence somehow never materializes, they are one step ahead. "Story" is about one such event. Are the psychics manipulating non psychics? Are Psychics being recruited by the criminal element as protection? Are the psychics helping these criminals by telling information to criminals to hold over their victims head? Are psychics giving information on how to destroy those that are investigating them, and or complaining about them by supplying criminals with information that is libelous and gross exaggerations of the truth? "Story" is of such an event. "Story" is about what appears to be one of the most epic stories of this century, and explores the possibilities that this is not new, and has been going on for a long time. Is "Story" truth or fiction? It's for you to decide. One of the biggest common mistakes in composing a cover letter is the tone of the letter. The term cover letter in theory is a misnomer, because the word letter implies telling a story which is the opposite of the desired affect of your cover letter. In actuality, a cover letter's job is to convince using highlights of key skills and experience as supporting evidence of what you can do. This can be achieved by using words that are strong, and reflect action.....more

Wishing all a Happy Chanukah and a happy holiday season! As i wrote in a previous message, and in a recent PR Release testimonials are important part of doing business.
The down side to testimonials, usually is the negative ones. Or so, most people think. Comments, negative or positive can have an AMAZING effect on situation. Which brings me to the point I'd like to make on this blog post I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to all those who have read and or contributed to any of my articles and sites that has spanned approximately four years.
Please take this holiday time to first of all thank yourself.....then thank your family, staff and all others. May our collective gratitude help us all connect to our higher powers, and help create an environment of acceptance and allowance thus creating the correct vibration to intense prosperity to materialize in our current realm of existence (reality). Wishing everyone a safe, and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday Love, peace, and light, Malka Maxwell by Malka Maxwell
I think one of the hardest things to do when you are self employed is to take a “paid personal” day.....or is it? Do you feel yourself being less relaxed as a self employed person or more relaxed. I think the challenge of getting new clients can be daunting, and yet exhilarating at the same time. Ironically, and mistakenly those who didn't really know me often remarked ”oh it's not always about the money”. After hearing that a few times I realized that there seems to be a mentality paradigm. For me working for myself, I use the same mentality that I had as an employee: do the best that I can, provide a good service, stay focused and motivated to achieve better. In my opinion it seems that women who work on their bushiness and have definitive goals are viewed differently than men. Or is the belief that a woman who work from home don't have competitive professional positions? Or what? Was my perspective on maintaining a professional only attitude toward my work an out dated point of view? Just wondering what you think. ...please add your comments. by Malka Maxwell
The month of November has been deemed gratitude month. I had seen this mentioned somewhere, and I wondered why and when did that happen. I guess it's because most people associate the time between the holidays of Thanksgiving and New Years as the pleasant months. On television and on the radio we hear stories of how people have “given of themselves” to others, people start speaking nicely to others all with goal of the long standing tradition of recognizing the human side of our society, and trying to give us a nice “fuzzy” feeling. more by Malka Maxwell
Although a resume is a document that describes all professional accomplishments there is one more element to the resume that needs mention. That element is education. Many times people focus on the actual institutions they attend but forget to add to their resume any certifications and licenses they may possess in addition to a degree or even aside from a degree. Certifications and licenses are important if they contribute to the job for which you are applying. Listing these certificates in a cohesive manner highlight your total ability to fully qualify for the job to which you are applying. The top 5 ways to list honorable mention certifications and or licenses on your resume are
As a professional who is required to have licenses and certifications remember to highlight those achievements. Focusing on your educational institution and work experience are the two main area of focus, however you need to list this third critical area of focus. By Malka Maxwell
A Curriculum Vitae is a document that includes multiple documents that highlight your professional history with a focus on your actual achievements in more detail than a resume. Curriculum Vitae is an especially good document for those who are looking for jobs in higher education, research, entrance into graduate and some undergraduate programs. The element that sets this document apart from a resume is that this document allows you to focus on your professional philosophy. The curriculum vitae or CV for short shares a resume format in terms of name, address, objectives, work experience however the two documents differ because the CV focuses intensely on educational achievements and lacks a minimum page length. Those achievements include scholarships you ma have received as a result of scholastic or educational advances, works that you have published, teaching philosophy, and community involvement experiences. Your CV should be written from the perspective of your ability to showcase your commitment and your achievement to your personal goals, your personal philosophies and how you reach them. The format for the actual document is first start off with a summary of your professional goals or objectives. Follow with a list of your achievements starting with your education. To conclude your CV, list your work history that supports your mentioned professional goals. Additional information that can be used in support of your CV includes any studies done abroad, thesis publishing, dissertation, and any languages learned. CVs are usually tailored to industries so to get the best format, you will need to do some research. By Malka Maxwell
As a previous Career Adviser the one thing that I found frustrating was resumes. Resume writing is one of those love hate relationships. On the one hand, you want to write about your work experience and educational accomplishments but on the other hand how the heck do you present it in a manner that makes sense to someone who really doesn't want to really read thousands of resumes? A professional resume writing service such as cbResume can offer a lot of help in terms of making this task easier. The reason being is that cbResume writing service is knowledgeable of the current trends in terms of what employers are looking for. In addition, their writer may not know about your particular field of expertise, but does know how to research it, and create a coherent and well written resume on your behalf. This is usually one of the hardest tasks in terms of writing your own resume. Another annoying task with writing your resume is looking over the same information and because you are so familiar with what you wrote, you may over look grammatical errors or even simple spelling mistakes. A professional resume writing service such as cbResume can review your resume, point out the things that you may need to change. After so many re-writes you may not want to start over from scratch so having this other source do that for you is definitely a convenience. Although hiring a resume writing service can cost you money, having someone work with any professional level is a big help. The packages at cbResume are for all employment levels, and a you are able to work with a dedicated resume writer to get a resume tailored to your work experience. If you choose to write your resume, one of the best things you can do is walk away from your resume for a while to rest your mind and look it over again with some clarity. Doing a review of resume either on your own or with the help of a professional writing service such as cbResume is a necessity to ensure your best resume is sent out to prospective employers. Although resumes are supposed to list career accomplishments, a big concern to many applicants is dating yourself, or going too far back in your work experience time line. When creating a résumé the best approach is to take a look at what the particular job listing you are considering to apply for and think about what your current career goals are, what previous work experience do you have that is relevant to the position and what is the purpose of applying for the job. The best way to simplify your work experience on your résumé is to: 1.List all work experiences. List all of your jobs starting with the current job. To the list add employment information such as address, telephone number and contact at those jobs. 2.Determine how much experience you have. By examining all of the job titles and the responsibilities from the jobs, you can create categories of work experience and how many years you have. 3.Organize the information. A résumé should be at least two pages long, however since most people have had multiple jobs you want to make sure that the jobs that will go on this particular resume are related to the job posting. Use the summary section of your résumé to highlight other responsibilities that are not listed on the résumé. 4.Use your cover letter wisely. Your cover letter can describe work experience that may not be actually listed on the résumé because you worked at a particular place for a short time period. Your résumé does not have to list every single job you have held, it should reflect any experience and skills relevant to the position you are going after. By structuring your résumé in a manner to simplify your work experience you can highlight the qualities that make you the best candidate. Rosh Hashana, the autumn holiday on the Jewish calendar is near. Rosh Hashana is celebrated by going to the synagogue, refraining from doing work, using symbolism such as food to remind of us the holiday and spending time looking in. In keeping with the introspection theme there are things that you can consciously tap into to make that process easier.

You are finally a business owner. Is a résumé still necessary? The answer is yes. Creating and keeping a current résumé is important because you have a professional accomplishment document that you can share with other professionals and potential investors. A business owner's résumé can be used when creating a business and when looking for clients an is an especially good choice for those that are new to the business. The résumé will highlight your professional experience, and should show a correlation for your current business market. The résumé should reflect a point of view as someone who is applying for a position of business owner for whatever market you are getting into. When creating your business owner résumé you should create two versions one for investors and one for your clients. The version that you will use with your clients and vendors will highlight your knowledge, experience and abilities The focus for the résumé that will be used with investors will again describe your abilities, experience, but it will express your financial goals in terms of what you want for your business as well. The summary you choose to use should also include how you would provide your service. By preparing a résumé and making changes to it you can avoid not having one when it is requested of you. Being prepared will demonstrate your professionalism, and it will give you a starting point for marketing yourself along with your business. Getting a job in general is hard enough. The internet allows anyone in any place in the world to connect with others. Telecommuting started this ability to responsibly do your work from a remote location. The internet however radically changed our options Through the internet we can access mail, send invoices, collaborate on projects long distance just to name a few of the options. The internet has also invited one more thing: crime. Crime is something that we unfortunately accept as a by product for human nature and society. Off line crime seems to result in a faster response time than cybercrime. For the purpose of this article cybercrime is defined as any act of aggression to another person, and property. For instance, the expression injurious and libelous messages of another individual especially when you know in real life you would not be able to get away with. Stealing another's property be it intellectual or their sales. When encountering cybercrime it makes you wonder if the person who does these things online is in reality a predator in real life. It seems that people who carry out these types of crimes believe that they are free from being identified off line and therefore they have a free pass to rampage through the internet injuring people. The dangers that these crimes pose are monumental, it seems that all of the countries are attempting to do things about it. A lot more needs to be done. The internet is used for job hunting, sales and information. These same services are available offline, however everyone knows that the best responses are coming from the internet. What can be done to protect yourself from inviting cybercrime?

Services is a field that many enjoy the benefits but few rarely say thank you. The best way to say thank you to someone for their services is to offer testimonies. Testimonies for the most part are usually said in a positive way, however once in a while someone decides to be rude about the truth. The negative information (in this case )however, would mean that the testimony is a proof that someone is being subjected to harassment, and stalking due to the ignorance of laws. A follow up for getting testimonies will be added in the near future. Case in point: a domain name that was highly search engine optimized in organic search to number one and has stayed there for three almost four years. You may be happy if that happened to you, right? So, I've decided to express my appreciation to myself. I am the former owner of the domain name malkamaxwell.com. The current owner, has absolutely no SEO work to do. The ground work for the site is solid for almost four years in a row for a group of long tail search terms. The current owner may not be happy knowing that I single handedly moved that site to its current position (considering there were some very nasty and targeted remarks toward my family). I on the other hand am thrilled! The negative posts that are on the home page are a great testimony to what my team and I can do. Not long ago, I had someone ask me if I can guarantee my work. With my former domain name malkamaxwell.com still ranking number one with absolutely no content and the utilization of my SEO (i wonder about that??) set in place three years ago.....what better guarantee than that? I on the other hand smile, every time that site out ranks my current site, because I know the fact that the old domain name that is holding someone else site only out ranks my current site (for now) is nothing but a GREAT testimony of my SEO abilities. Thank you current owner of my former domain name for helping promote my current website, malka-maxwell.com; but more than that for giving me such a wonderful testimonial. You should be so lucky one day to earn one too. Come visit us at: consultingsite.malka-maxwell.com if I did for that site, imagine what I can do for you? This was written by Malka Maxwell © 2010 How To Get Ahead With Resumes. As you are trying to achieve your goal of getting a job, writing your resume, getting an interview, getting a contract position.....you have to try and keep positive. Yes, it is difficult to stay positive when everything you are doing seems to be leading you nowhere. However, you have to find a positive solution.
Your desire to move ahead in life is based on what your subconscious tells you. Don't believe me? How is that someone like Oprah who was raised in a destitute environment was able to overcome that and move into her current position in life? From what it seems, she didn't have many people who are positive thinkers, but the few that she has in her life makes her able to see, feel and touch her goals as her new reality. In this economy which I will admit is a bit tough, but definitely “over come able”(is that even a word?)you still have to look, feel and touch your goals for moving your career ahead. You have to find a solution that allows you the victory over whatever you are facing. When I say a solution I am not referring to stealing, cheating and all of the other usual attitudes people have. I am talking about trying to find positive activities that when you reach your goal you will really enjoy the victory. Along the way, you may have small victories which is where doing contract work comes into play, you may also want to explore your money beliefs. Before you appreciate the bigger goal, you must relish the smaller ones as well. You must dance for joy or whatever it is that you do to celebrate that achievement! It will encourage you to keep going further along the road you currently on. Just stay on the positive mind path. Even I have problems with staying positive all of the time, however, I do know to check my thoughts as often as I can during my day, and I try to celebrate the “small” successes. Job hunting used to be primarily about reading advertisements and picking up applications, filing them out and returning them to the potential employer. With the internet that has changed. Information is available immediately in real time and the job opportunities can be accessed from anywhere, anytime. First impressions are now made by the quality of what you write before a prospective employer will even send you an email, or call you on the telephone. The ability to use the previous standards for job hunting are necessary, however their execution are different. Those procedures included writing in full sentences, not using abbreviations, having personal information available. 1.Use the correct application process for online applications. When filling out an online application have your categories of information available. They include personal information such as name, age, address, contact information and social security number. The next set of information is work experience followed by educational qualifications with information, and lastly your references, This information allows the prospective employer at first glance see if you closely match the job opening. 2.Remember basic language rules. When filling out the application write (type in)your answers as if you are actually speaking with the hiring manager. Use full sentences, spell words out fully, try to keep the tone of the application formal and professional. Your online application is the equivalence of the old way of going in and asking for an application. It gives a prospective employer a peak at your professionalism. 3.Get straight to the point. Answer questions by using the KISS rule: Keep It Simple St----.! You already know the basic questions that will be asked of you. Prepare your answers so that when you fill out your application you can format your information sensibly, professionally and more importantly to the point. Lengthy answers that are not well formed may bore your interviewer to tears. Keep your answer short enough to satisfy the answer required and full of appropriate information. Using new methods to get a jobs still requires the “old”methodologies. Become familiar with them, write out an outline to have handy to assist you when filling out your online applications.
