The month of November has been deemed gratitude month. I had seen this mentioned somewhere, and I wondered why and when did that happen. I guess it's because most people associate the time between the holidays of Thanksgiving and New Years as the pleasant months. On television and on the radio we hear stories of how people have “given of themselves” to others, people start speaking nicely to others all with goal of the long standing tradition of recognizing the human side of our society, and trying to give us a nice “fuzzy” feeling. These long standing traditions are mirrored in business as well. This is the time of the year when the big company pays us the little man a thank you by giving us bonuses. Sadly, I dislike this time of year, I feel gratitude is a daily ritual. Every single day we should be saying thank you. Aside from prayer times, and making blessings over everything from food, to new clothes and even the godly creations called nature are we too busy to remember thank you? Seriously? Do we call ourselves “x” religion and forget the essentials that mankind has to make nice with mankind before getting “brownie points' from the higher levels of functioning? Really? These last few months of the year just remind me of how inconsiderate I am sometimes in my life, and it makes me question my ability to act as a role model to my children and to myself to remember the gratitude daily. But more than that it makes me wonder by being grateful to others, am I the last piece of energy that will help shift it to a more powerfully pleasant world?. Looking at the national landscape, let's see what should we be thankful for:
