Interviews are the last step in evaluating a Candidate for a job.Job interviews are a way for a prospective employer to see if a Candidate is a good fit for the company.Job interviews are usually scheduled once a company has put out advertisements seeking candidates for a position. Once a company shortlists or narrows down the most qualified applicants, an interview is set with the Candidates. After reading a Candidate's resume, a company then speaks with the applicant to determine and ensure the company's resources mainly money will be given to the best and qualified individual for a specific position. Interviews differ in terms of what market is hiring.For instance, a work at home or freelance job will usually do an interview over the telephone. A sales job interview will usually be in person. Dressing for an interview Candidates usually know to wear clothing that is more formal than what may be expected at work.Formal wear for an interview would include a suit for an office job, sales job, freelance and consultant positions.A candidate applying for a physical labor position should dress neatly in a blouse or shirt and solid colored skirt or slacks. Jeans may also be appropriate for this type of interview as well. Other elements of interviews are also dependent upon the profession such as performing artists, where a Candidate will display an ability to perform an industry task. Interviews on the global job market may include psychometric testing which include questions about a candidate's ability to do a job based upon familial responsibilities, age, and gender. Although not used in most of North America, due to it's implications of discriminatory practices.
